Rob's 1969 Dodge Dart GTS

My name is Rob Tukker, and I am a Dutchman (living in Holland), age 40. Once I served in the Dutch Marines on Curaçao (Netherlands Antilles), and there I bought my very first car, a 1969 Dodge Dart GTS.

How I loved her!!!! She never let me down, although I had to be very careful with her. At every gas-pitstop I had to fill up every oil/water reservoir I could find--for the steering wheel, the motor, brakes, as well as the radiator and the partition for the a/c (which produced a deep-freeze coldness you hardly can imagine). My fellow marines always wanted the use my car for the last reason. It was the only car which could create a temperature shock of at least 30 degrees Celsius. (On Curaçao the temperature is sometimes over 40 degrees C. [104 degrees Fahrenheit--Ed.]) The Dodge used 1 liter of gasoline every 4 kilometers!

With pain in my heart I had to sell her when I went back to Holland. For about two years I had been able to follow the adventures of my Dodge from a distance of thousands of miles, and then she disappeared.....
