Kim's Story of Selling a Car on the Dodge Dart Page Classified

I wanted to thank you and share our story. Your efforts to support people's emotional attachment to hunks of metal have allowed another family to enjoy these great cars. So, let me tell you a little story about a "little brown car."

My Mom was a retired teacher and decided she wanted to go back to work with the "babies." She moved to Nevada and needed a car, as she hadn't owned one in ten years. I found the 1974 Dodge Dart Special Edition 4dr in a tow yard, covered and waiting for me! She had extremely low miles and had only one owner prior.

I wanted my mom to have a car that was heavy, solid, easy to maintain, comfortable and a car that would protect a very special woman. My Mom named her "Betsy" and fell in love. She pampered, waxed, crooned, and loved that car, but decided she needed something a little more modern and wanted to find a good home to pass her on too. Thus, your website.

You are the only advertisement we put out there and within 3 weeks, I had 2 offers from overseas and one from California.

And here is where the magic comes in! The buyers live one city south from me! They wanted a car to keep in the family and pass down through their children. We arranged a meeting and two parents and three teenagers climbed into Betsy and exclaimed over the shag carpeting and "real" bumpers.

They made an offer and I accepted. I kept all our emails back and forth for my Mom, and she was teary eyed that we were able to find a home for the car that had taken such good care of her over the years. The new owners have already found a mint condition owner's manual, and their teenager believes he will be the envy of his schoolmates who are forced to drive Escalades!

I have never sold a car before and it was a very enjoyable experience. The new owners say my Mom has visitation rights, and when I drove the car to the meeting, ole Bets just purrrred!

Thank you for your commitment to these great cars and the people who are a little nuts for them. Your commitment has far reaching effects.

Sincerely,
Kim C.
