New GT Sport

The GT Sport is new for Dodge Dart in 1968. The model features a new 340-cubic-inch V-8, a unique grille, simulated exhaust ports, and many other sporty items.

New 275 H.P. Engine

The Dodge Dart GTS is now available with a new 340-cubic-inch engine. The 275-hp engine is a light, compact engine with high performance capabilities and good fuel economy.

Pick An Automatic Or A Manual

The new Dodge Dart GTS is offered with either an automatic or 4-speed manual transmission as a no-cost option. The new 340-cubic-inch engine is standard.

Steering Wheels

Two standard and two optional steering wheels are available to choose from in the Dodge Dart line for 1968. The top wheel features a wood-grain rim mounted to a stainless steel spider, and is available in the GT, GTS, and 270 models.

Bright Molding

A bright "dress up" molding package is offered as an option to buyers of the least expensive Dodge Dart models. The option provides body side and drip rail trim.

Wider Tires

The new "70" series tires are available on Dodge Darts for '68. The E70 is standard on the GTS, with the D70 offered as an option on other models.

Two-Tone Paints

The new Dodge Dart GT and GTS is available in 56 different two-tone color combinations. Metallic paints include Racing Green, Burgundy, and Gold.

Safety Features

Some safety features in the 1968 Dart include new side marker lights, "soft" plastic window crank knobs, additional instrument panel crash padding, front seat back latches, and improved fuel tank retention.

Rallye Pack

Any 1968 Darts can be equipped with the Rallye Suspension package. Heavier torsion bars, springs, and shock absorbers provide a firmer ride with higher handling and cornering ability.

Variety of Lights

The 1968 Dodge Dart offers lots of lights to the driver. In addition to the standard headlights, taillights, backup lights, turn and new side marker lights, and parking brake light, the buyer may order an ash tray, glove box, trunk, map and courtesy light, and even an ignition switch light that "thinks" for a minute before turning itself off.

Six Engines

Dodge Darts for 1968 have a wide selection of six cylinder and V-8 engines available ranging from 115 to 300 horsepower.
